Very often in our fast paced society we are no longer in contact with our body, we want one thing, do another & feel a third. The benefits of yoga are many on every level. With private Yoga sessions I provide you with personalized yoga classes that cater to your needs, prefered style & level.
Health Coaching
Through Health Coaching, I help you put into words what is important to you & what motivates you. We uncover your inner potential & make a plan for you to move towards a healthier & more balanced life. A life filled with energy to do the things you want.
During each coaching session I ask questions to make you verbalize & organize your thoughts, in order to make your goal/preferred state clearer to you. When you know where you have been & where you are, it’s so much easier to strive to where you want to be. I provide you with a plan with yoga classes that suit your needs, level & preferred style.
You get your Yoga plan in a document that you can consult everyday plus a digital journal where you can write how you are feeling, how the different classes & exercises make you feel, what you eat, how well you sleep etc. That way you can easily track how you are affected by what you do during the day. Or you choose to get the Wellness by Emmely App where you will have a range of yoga sessions, yin yoga pose break down, & much more.
Seeing how it’s easy to forget what you talk about & what conclusions you make during a session I take notes, that I organize & send to you in a document, regardless of which package you chose. That way you can easily go back & refresh your memory whenever you need to.
Together with different Yoga sessions, exercises in Meditation & Mindfulness & breathing, I use different techniques taken from Coaching, Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, as well as Acceptance & Commitment Therapy to guide you towards where you want to be, the life you want to live.
Yoga is an ancient way of living from India, that dates back over 5000 years. According to artofliving.org, “Yoga is that ability to remain centered in adverse situations. Whatever takes us back to our original, joyous & harmonious nature is yoga.” Today in the west we often refer to the physical postures, asanas, when talking about yoga, but yoga is so much more. It’s a non religious way of living, that in different ways deal with the meaning of the sanskrit word Yoga “to unite” or “to join”, which refers to uniting the body, mind & spirit. What we today would call being in balance. At the same time it is about how we treat ourselves & each other, how our thoughts & actions are connected, doing good.
There are many types of yoga some that are more strenuous & others that are less so. People often have a preferred style that they practice. Living with Chronic illness & sometimes having little energy, I have learned to let my body decide which way I practice. Many of the asanas are present in the different styles, the difference is for how long &/or at what intensity/flow you practice them. There is a style for everyone, beginners as well as more experienced yogis.

Making changes in your life is sometimes hard & daunting. You have to put in the time & work if you want to see those changes. I will be by your side guiding you through your process, but I can’t make the changes for you. Real change takes hard work & dedication to make happen.

I provide you with private yoga sessions that cater to your needs, preferred level of intensity, & access to equipment.
*Restorative yoga is balancing & relaxing. We stay in the posture for up to 30 minutes to land & activate the parasympathetic nervous system. The positions are either seated or lying down, supported with lots of cushions, blankets & bolsters.
*Yin yoga releases tension, creates balance, strength & connection to your body. We stay 5 minutes in each posture to activate the fascia. Most positions are either seated or lying down.
*Hatha can be adapted to your needs & level depending on flow & intensity.
